The Fellowship is a church led by elders. We try to be true to the New Testament patterns of church life found in Acts 14 & 20, 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, and 1 Peter 5. These passages picture a plurality of spiritually mature men who lead and shepherd with a servant spirit. We do not elect or make someone an elder. Only God makes an elder. As a church, we try to be faithful in recognizing who among us has been made an elder by God. If someone has a shepherd's heart for people, is already doing elder-type work and has demonstrated godly character and home life, we recognize God has made an elder. |
